APPLICATION AREAS

Differential pressure intelligent online density meters can measure the density of various liquids or liquid mixtures online. They are mainly used in the petroleum industry, oil refining industry, chemical industry, food industry,biopharmaceutical industry, environmental monitoring, and mining industry.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Differential pressure series online density(concentration) sensors are based on Archimedes' principle: P=ρgh, meaning the static pressure of a liquid column at a certain height is directly proportional to the density of the liquid. Therefore, the density of the liquid can be measured by the static pressure value measured by a pressure measuring instrument. The detection end uses a diaphragm pressure measuring element to directly measure the static pressure value to convert it into the density value of the medium.

The differential pressure series of online density (concentration) sensors adopts advanced detection technology. Its main components include: a pair of high-precision differential pressure sensors and a pair of pressure-sensitive diaphragms that are in direct contact with the liquid. There is a temperature sensor between the two diaphragms to compensate for the temperature change of the measured liquid. The density of the medium is then calculated by dedicated software.

PRODUCT INSTALLATION

  • Installation instructions:
  1. The product must be installed vertically, with a perpendicularity to the ground within 5°.
  2. The distance between the two diaphragm cells (sensors) must be at least 500mm.
  3. Both diaphragm cells must be submerged in the liquid being measured
  4. For viscous or crystalline media, the diaphragm cells need to be flushed regularly to prevent media adhesion and ensure measurement accuracy.
  1. When disassembling, ensure the sensor diaphragm cells are not subjected to impacts or other damage.
  2. During pipeline installation, the liquid must flow in from the top or bottom, not from the middle. A buffer distance of at least 30cm must be left for pipeline valves or bends.
  • Installation method:

(I) Application of tanks and pools

  • illustrate:
  1. Determine the flange size. Common flange sizes are DN50, DN65, and DN80.
  2. The center-to-center distance between the two sensor diaphragm boxes must be at least 500mm. The default spacing is 500mm.
  1. For straight-insertion type, confirm the distance between the center of the upper diaphragm box and the bottom of the flange (i.e., point A).
  1. For side-mounted type with a bend, confirm the distance between the center of the upper diaphragm box and the center of the flange (i.e., point A), and the length of the bend (i.e., point C).

(II) Applications in Pipelines

  • illustrate:
  1. Determine the flange size. Common flange sizes are DN50, DN65, and DN80;
  2. The center-to-center distance between the two sensor diaphragm boxes needs to be at least 500mm. The default is a 500mm spacing;
  3. For direct-insertion type, confirm the distance between the center of the upper diaphragm box and the bottom of the flange (i.e., point A).
